EASTERN IDAHO — As the high school football season approaches the halfway mark, a handful of local teams have separated themselves as title contenders.

The Rockland Bulldogs and Hillcrest Knights improved to 4-0 with decisive wins on Friday. Meanwhile, the back-to-back reigning 6A state champion Rigby Trojans pushed their perfect start to 6-0 with a tight victory over another Utah challenger.

The 4-0 West Side Pirates were inactive this week, enjoying a bye after a battle with the Bulldogs in Ririe last week.

The American Falls Beavers and Grace Grizzlies were among a large group of local teams that got back into the win column with solid performances over the weekend.
