State media poll: Madison back in 6A poll, Skyline drops after second loss

EASTERN IDAHO — There were no changes at the top of this week’s state media football polls.

Madison, with its win over Skyline, is back in the 6A rankings at No. 5. Rigby is the unanimous No. 1 in 6A, and travels to No. 2 Coeur d’Alene this week in a battle of the unbeatens.

Skyline’s loss to Madison dropped the Grizzlies down a spot to No. 5 in the 5A poll. Defending state champion Bishop Kelly received all 11 first-place votes, with unbeaten Hillcrest holding down the No. 2 spot.

Sugar-Salem continues to hold the No. 3 spot in 4A, with South Fremont receiving votes.

It’s another unanimous pick in 3A as West Side continues to roll at 5-0. West Jefferson is No. 4 and Aberdeen and Salmon are each receiving votes.

In the 8-man polls, Butte County received votes in 2A, and unbeaten Rockland moved up a spot to No. 4 in 1A.
