Civil War: Bonneville defense shines, but second-half rally by Hillcrest earns Knights another victory

IDAHO FALLS – Hillcrest continued its dominance of the Civil War rivalry game with Bonneville, defeating the Bees 22-10 Friday night.
The Knights have won 12 of the past 13 matchups and remain unbeaten on the season and atop the 5A High Country Conference standings, pending tonight’s Emotion Bowl game between Skyline and Idaho Falls.
Elam Miner ran for 124 yards and Maddox Ellingford scored two touchdowns to pace the Hillcrest offense.
Logan Taylor tossed a touchdown to Ethan Saunders, who had a team-high five catches for 54 yards.
Bonneville had won three straight games, and the Bees’ scoring defense was among the best in 5A.
They held Hillcrest to 284 total yards and the 22 points was a season-low for the Knights.
The Knights led 6-3 at the half, but the Bees scored in the third for a 10-6 lead.
Hillcrest finished with a touchdown in the third and another in the fourth to secure the win.
Hillcrest (6-0, 4-0) is at Idaho Falls next week. Bonneville (3-3, 2-2) hosts Century.
