The Skyline boys golf team set a school record as it prepares for a postseason run

IDAHO FALLS – You can’t set a school record with just one good round, so this week’s District 6 Athlete of the Week is a bit different.
The Skyline boys golf team won the 5A District 5/6 Regional tournament, shooting a school-record 283 at Sage Lakes Golf Course.
Ryan Tocheri shot 66 to win the tournament, with teammate Jimmer Dalton right behind with a score of 69. Cooper Matlack finished tied for fourth at 71.
“This is such a fun group of boys to coach, and seeing them set a new school record makes it even more special,” Skyline coach Tyson Bowen said. “They’ve worked really hard, and it feels like they’re starting to play their best golf at exactly the right time. We’re really proud of what they’ve accomplished, but they also know there’s still work to be done. The job isn’t finished yet, and we’re excited to see what they can do moving into the district and state tournaments.”
