Blackfoot’s Arave, Sorensen, and Bonneville’s Hengel top 5A all-conference honors

EASTERN IDAHO — The Blackfoot duo of Austin Arave and Kasen Sorensen were selected Co-Players of the Year in 5A District 6, while Bonneville’s Cortland Hengel was named Coach of the Year.

Arave led the Broncos in scoring at 19.5 points and Sorensen averaged 16.3 points. Sorensen averaged 9.5 rebounds and Arave averaged 6.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists.

Arave was also the team’s top 3-point shooter, connecting on 34% of his shots.

Hengel helped lead Bonneville to its first district title since 2014 and a berth in the 5A state tournament.
