Late charge by the Grays comes up short in playoff semifinal opener against Logan

LOGAN – The Gate City Grays rallied late in Thursday’s Northern Utah League best-of-three semifinal opener, but came up just short in a 10-8 loss to the Logan Royals.
The Grays trailed 10-3 before scoring a run in the sixth and four more in the seventh to pull within 10-8, but would get no closer.
Catcher and former Sugar-Salem standout Tommy Woodcock finished 4 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Thomas Anderson was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and Chris Louie finished 2 for 3 with three RBIs for the Grays (18-9).
Game 2 of the series is Friday at Halliwell Park in Pocatello.
