Grays even semifinal series with Logan as offense heats up

POCATELLO – The Gate City Grays’ offense erupted in Friday night’s Northern Utah League semifinal as the Grays evened the best-of-three series with a 16-6 win over the Logan Royals.

The Grays scored eight runs in the second inning for a 9-1 lead and added on with runs in every inning.

Gate City took advantage of four errors by the Royals to score 13 unearned runs.

Brody Burch, Tegan Mortensen and Tyler Vance each homered for the Grays. Vance led the team with five RBIs, including a grand slam in the second. Burch added four RBIs.

The series continues Saturday in Logan with the winner advancing to the championship round.
