Logan Royals rally late to beat Grays in Game 3 of the league semifinals

LOGAN – The season came to an end for the Gate City Grays on Saturday night as the Logan Royals scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to hold on for a 3-1 win over the Grays in the third game of the best-of-three Northern Utah League semifinals.

Gio Galvan’s RBI single in the third inning staked the Grays to an early 1-0 lead, but Logan took the lead in the sixth as Truman Duryea hit a two-run homer and Josh Simon added an insurance run with an RBI single later in the inning.

Gate City starter Brody Burch struck out five in five innings, but took the loss after giving up two runs in the pitching duel.

After losing the semifinal series opener, the Grays battled back to force a deciding game with Friday’s 16-6 victory.

Gate City finishes its season 19-9.
