Idaho Falls’ Leah Thomas earns national volleyball accolades

IDAHO FALLS – Idaho Falls senior Leah Thomas was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association/MaxPreps Player of the Week for Idaho after leading the Tigers to a 6-2 record at the Peg Peterson tournament in Pocatello.

Thomas recorded 82 kills (4.56 per game), 37 digs, six aces, and four blocks in 18 games.

The Tigers were voted No. 1 in the latest 5A coaches’ state poll and played two tough matches earlier this week against 6A powers Madison and Rigby.

Idaho Falls begins conference play on Sept. 1 at state runner-up Shelley.
