BYU players out ahead of Big 12 showdown against Arizona

PROVO (KSL.com) – BYU football continues preparations for its first Big 12 game of the season this weekend against Arizona.
The return of league play brings back availability reports.
The Big 12 requires teams to disclose who’s “OUT” going into a conference matchup. It’s the second year the league has implemented this rule. Daily reports begin Wednesday night before a Saturday game.
On BYU’s initial availability report, a little more than a handful of players are “OUT” for Saturday’s Big 12 opener against the Wildcats.
The most notable ones are starting safety Raider Damuni and running back Sione Moa. Both players announced that they suffered injuries in last Saturday’s blowout win over Utah Tech.
Damuni is expected to be back at some point this season. Moa’s timeline is unclear. He announced on Wednesday that he suffered an MCL and PCL injury.
The other players out for BYU in Saturday’s game against the Wildcats include cornerbacks Jonathan Kabeya and Kevin Doe, running back Jovesa Damuni, offensive lineman Brigham Alexander, and tight end Jacob Nye.
Among those players, Kevin Doe was the only one who played in the opener against Utah Tech.
Doe logged three snaps in the blowout victory.
Jonathan Kabeya has been rehabbing his injury since the offseason. He didn’t participate in fall camp practices and was in street clothes last week for the Utah Tech game.
Jovesa Damuni suffered an injury during spring practice last March. Head coach Kalani Sitake was asked during fall camp whether Damuni would return this season, and Sitake said he would.
Offensive lineman Brigham Alexander was on crutches during last week’s game, while redshirt freshman tight end Jacob Nye was wearing a short walker boot last Saturday.
Star LB Isaiah Glasker is “Probable”
The biggest highlight of BYU’s availability report is the status of linebacker Isaiah Glasker.
Glasker is listed as “PROBABLE” entering the Big 12 opener.
Last week, Glasker went through pregame warmups. Still, Kalani Sitake and defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga opted to have Glasker rest with an undisclosed minor injury he suffered at the end of fall camp.
