State media poll: Rigby knocked off No. 1 perch by Coeur d’Alene, struggling Skyline falls out of rankings

EASTERN IDAHO — As expected, there was a shakeup at the top of this week’s state media 6A poll.

In the battle of the top two unbeaten 6A teams last week, it was Coeur d’Alene defeating Rigby 34-27.

The Vikings (7-0) moved into the No. 1 spot with all 10 first-place votes and Rigby dropped to second. Madison, which had a bye week, remained No. 5.

Skyline, riding a three-game losing skid, fell out of the 5A poll, while Hillcrest remained No. 2 behind Bishop Kelly.

There was no change in 4A, where Sugar-Salem holds the No. 3 spot.

West Side, the only unbeaten team in 3A, was again the unanimous No. 1, while West Jefferson, coming off a win over Salmon, moved up a spot to No. 3.

There was no change in the 8-man polls as Rockland (6-0) held the No. 4 spot in 1A.
