IDAHO FALLS — The reigning Dineen Cup champion Idaho Falls Spud Kings kept pace with the conference-leading Ogden Mustangs, winning both ends of a back-to-back Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Spud Kings (33-8-2-2), who already own a spot in this year’s Dineen Cup Championship Series, which they will host, after winning the cup last season, stayed on the heels of the Mustangs (35-9-1-1), who lead the Mountain Conference.
Idaho Falls beat the Casper Warbirds, 5-0, Tuesday night, then backed that up with a 2-1 victory over the Utah Outliers Wednesday.
The Spud Kings will play their next eight games on the road, beginning with a trip to Ogden on Friday. Their next home game will be on March 28, when they host the Rock Springs Miners.
