EASTERN IDAHO — The Hillcrest Knights remain very much in the hunt for another state championship, after beating the Bonneville Bees in the annual Civil War rivalry game to maintain their top spot in the conference.

Of their three remaining games, the Knights (6-0, 4-0) will face two teams capable of unseating them atop the 5A High Country Conference standings — Skyline (3-3, 1-1) and Blackfoot (3-3, 1-1) — and another team that, with a victory over Hillcrest, would jump right back into the conference title picture — Idaho Falls (3-3, 2-2).

Speaking of Idaho Falls, the Tigers beat the Grizzlies 28-21 Saturday, winning the Emotion Bowl for the first time in five years.

The Highland Rams, on the other hand, continued their run of dominance over the Pocatello Thunder, winning the Black and Blue Bowl for the 16th time in a row.

In addition to rivalry week high school games, Pocatello’s Portneuf Wellness Complex hosted the annual Bob Conley Invitational cross-country meet on Thursday and eighth-grade youth football on Saturday.
