EASTERN IDAHO – From Tuesday’s action, Pocatello, which averages more than 10 runs per game, had little trouble against Madison, scoring 22 runs to sweep a doubleheader.

Individually, Bonneville’s Gracie Longhurst did double-duty at the plate and in the circle to beat Twin Falls, and Skyline’s Mikayela Lopez tossed a shutout against Idaho Falls.

Pocatello 19, Madison 9; Pocatello 13, Madison 1

Third baseman Oakley Hirschi finished with three doubles and a triple to account for four RBIs, and five other players had at least two RBIs as the Thunder cruised in the opener.

Pocatello (8-2) swept the doubleheader as the top of the lineup continued to produce, with leadoff hitter Oakley knocking in three runs, and Adisyn Schmidtgail and Azlinn Bullock adding two RBIs each. Harley Baca and Graycie Jolley also finished with two RBIs.

Schmidtgail picked up the win with seven strikeouts in five innings.

Skyline 4, Idaho Falls 0

Mikayela Lopez struck out four to earn the shutout for the Grizzlies.

First baseman Brylee Scott homered and Caydence Holden also had an RBI.

Amaya Castaneda had a double for the Tigers.

Thunder Ridge 14, Blackfoot 8; Blackfoot 6, Thunder Ridge 3

The Titans and Broncos split the nonconference doubleheader.

Thunder Ridge took an early 8-0 lead and finished with 18 hits, including homers from Carly Jones, Giulia Johns, Maleah Kappas and Zoey Sorg in the opener.

Blackfoot salvaged the split with six runs in the first two innings of Game 2.

Emma McGuire homered for Blackfoot.

Bonneville 13, Twin Falls 1

Gracie Longhurst homered and also picked up the win for the Bees, striking out nine in five innings.

Hillcrest 10, Shelley 9

In a wild finish, the Knights took the lead in the seventh with four runs, but the Russets ralied for three runs in the bottom of the inning, but came up just short.

Raine Jarvis and Kenna Wallis each knocked in two runs for Hillcrest, and Marki Chilton homered.

Macie Winder belted two homers for Shelley and finished with five RBIs.

Winder also struck out 13 over seven innings, but took the loss.

Firth 15, Ririe 3

Ririe scored three in the top of the first, but it was the Cougars closed it out in five innings with 19 hits, including two doubles from Linlee Telford and Meg Leslie, and a triple by Andrea Fielding.

Charly White earned the win for Firth.

Sugar-Salem 12, Marsh Valley 9

Kambry Bartholick homered and doubled and finished with four RBIs for the Diggers.

Shortstop Seneca Bitter added grand slam.

Olivia Campbell hit a pair of home runs and Maddy Bartschi also homered for Marsh Valley.

North Fremont 25, West Jefferson 10

It was a slugfest at West Jefferson as the Huskies pounded out 21 hits, including 10 for extra bases.

Makyah Cherry, Oakley Hathaway and Peyton Lenz each homered for North Fremont.

Lenz also had two doubles and five RBIs, and Hathaway added a triple and four RBIs.

London Marsden knocked in four runs.

McKenna Burtenshaw finished with three RBIs for West Jefferson.

Burley 9, Century 1

Burley’s Ady Olmos tossed a no-hitter and struck out 10 Century batters.

Century took advantage of two walks and a ground out to score its run in the fourth.
