EASTERN IDAHO – There were plenty of good candidates for the District 6 East Idaho Sports Athlete of the Week.
The one thing they all had in common?
Winning.
But it was Thunder Ridge quarterback Ryder Portmann narrowly earning the honor after passing for 223 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-6 win over Bonneville.
The win snapped the Titans’ eight-game losing streak.
Portmann had 19 passing TDs last season as a junior, earning first-team All-Conference honors.
So far this season, Portmann has totaled five touchdown passes in two games and leads the team with three rushing scores.
McKay Scoresby has become a favorite target, catching five passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Bonneville.
