Highland takes top honors in 6A District 5-6 All-Conference selections, Thunder Ridge with six first-teamers

EASTERN IDAHO — Highland and Thunder Ridge highlighted the 6A District 5-6 All-Conference softball team with the Rams’ McKenna Sutton earning Player of the Year and Bryce Bybee selected Coach of the Year. Thunder Ridge had six players named to the first team.
Sutton, a junior, pitched in 23 games and struck out 147 batters in 115.1 innings.
Five of the six Thunder Ridge first-teamers are underclassmen, including sophomore Giulia Johns, who hit .538 with eight homers and knocked in 30 runs. Freshman Zoey Sorg hit .384 with 10 home runs.
Highland (20-10) advanced to the state tournament while Thunder Ridge (17-11) fell in a state play-in game.
