EASTERN IDAHO – South Fremont took the Mountain Rivers Conference opener against Sugar-Salem, and Thunder Ridge got a walk-off win.

Here’s the area softball action from Tuesday.

Blackfoot 17, Shelley 7

The Broncos scored 10 runs in the first inning to win the conference matchup.

Keslyn Reid hit two homers and finished with six RBIs for Blackfoot (9-4, 2-1).

Traylee Reid and Aniston Evans each had two RBIs.

Kennadi Mitchell homered for Shelley (5-4, 1-2).

Firth 13, West Jefferson 3

A five-run first inning propelled the Cougars in the Nuclear Conference game.

Andrea Fielding homered and Linlee Telford Kieleigh Bales each knocked in two runs for Firth 5-9, 2-1).

Charly White picked up the win, giving up one earned run in five innings.

West Jefferson dropped to 0-4, 0-3.

Hillcrest 9, Idaho Falls 8

The Knights rallied with a run in the sixth and another in the seventh as Raine Jarvis doubled to score Rachel Bateman with the eventual winning run in the seventh.

Kenna Wallis, Marki Chilton and Mya Weatherly each homered for Hillcrest (8-4, 2-1).

Amaya Castaneda and Olivia Cordon homered for Idaho Falls (3-9, 0-3).

West Side 10, Soda Springs 1

West Side took the early lead, scoring nine runs in the third inning.

Emilee Dewitt hit two doubles and finished with four RBIs for the Pirates (1-3, 1-1).

Soda Springs dropped to 0-4, 0-2.

South Fremont 17, Sugar-Salem 10

The Cougars pounded out 23 hits to win the Mountain Rivers Conference opener.

Leah Lehmann finished 4 for 5 and Charly Stoddard, Kaylie Dalling, Zui Tavarez and Maci Gardner each had three hits.

Sailee Kerbs homered for South Fremont (8-8, 1-0).

Emery Green and Seneca Bitter each homered for the Diggers (7-6, 0-1).

Thunder Ridge 8, Pocatello 7

Thunder Ridge scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game, and Giulia Johns knocked in the game-winner with a single in the bottom of the seventh.

Chelsea Adams, Maleah Kappas and Zoey Sorg homered for the Titans (6-6).

Piper Williams homered for Pocatello (10-3).
