Rigby’s Giada Bertagnolli, an Air Force commit, has spurred the Trojan volleyball team to a 7-0 start

RIGBY – The Rigby volleyball team enters the week 7-0 after an impressive run at the Peg Peterson tournament on the way to the Gold Bracket title.

In the middle of the action was senior Giada Bertagnolli, who is listed as an outside hitter, middle blocker and right-side hitter.

Bertagnolli, the East Idaho Sports District 6 Athlete of the Week, finished the tournament with 59 kills and hit .259 as the Trojans won close three-set matches against Twin Falls, Shelley and Idaho Falls. They beat Shelley, last year’s 5A state runner-up, twice.

Bertagnolli has committed to the Air Force Academy and was a second-team All-Conference player last season.
