Firth senior Darrell Vasquez tabbed Nuclear Conference Player of the Year

EASTERN IDAHO – The Nuclear Conference released its All-Conference baseball team this week, with Firth senior Darrell Vasquez earning Player of the Year.
Vasquez hit .412 and knocked in 32 runs. He was among team leaders in on-base percentage (.552), stolen bases (27), runs (39), hits (34), slugging percentage (.600), doubles (8), triples (2) and home runs (1).
Firth (20-8), which won the Nuclear Conference and was 8-0 during the regular season, advanced to the 3A state play-in series, but fell to eventual state finalist Nampa Christian.
The Cougars’ Michael Adams, Stockton Perry, Grant Vasquez, Quinton Hall and Beau Ringel were each named to the first team.
North Fremont, which advanced to the play-in series, had Garrett Owens, Benny Torres and Hunter Hogle selected to the first team.
