Rising Cost of Inmate Health Care Could Impact Tax Payers
Published atThe rising cost of health care isn’t only impacting average citizens. It’s hurting inmates as well. A change in the state level is now forcing counties to pay more to take care of inmate needs. Local News 8 reports that because of the rise in the number of people outside the system requiring medical care, the new law requires counties to pick up the tab for any medical costs over $12,000.
