Idaho Falls Police arrested Marcus Jose Rodriguez Monday for aggravated driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident after a 22-year-old man was injured in an accident.
According to Joelyn Hansen (PIO for The Idaho Falls Police Department), police responded to John’s Hole around 8:30 p.m. after EMS responded to the area to treat injuries a man sustained in an accident.
Upon investigation, officers learned that the victim had fallen off a green Ford Expedition driven by Rodriguez. The victim had been hanging onto the side of the vehicle when Rodriguez accelerated causing the victim to fall off and hit his head on the concrete.
Rodriguez and his three passengers fled from the scene.
Rodriguez and the passengers were located. It was also determined that Rodriguez was under the influence of alcohol.
The victim was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
