Wyoming Judge Orders Retrial in 1984 Murder Case

(PINEDALE, Wyo.) – A Wyoming judge has called for a new trial for a Montana man accused of murdering a woman nearly 30 years ago. District Judge Timothy Day says investigators withheld evidence that could have helped Troy Willoughby at his trial. Willoughby was convicted last year for the 1984 shooting death of Elizabeth Miles Ehlers (pronounced Ay-Lers), of Jackson. The judge suspects the evidence was withheld because  investigators feared it might result in failure to convict a man they considered guilty.
