Detectives Investigating Inmate Suicide

(POCATELLO) – Detectives are investigating the death of an inmate at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center. 48-year-old CherylAnn Spellmeyer was found unconscious in her cell around 10 a.m. Wednesday after placing a binding around her neck. Authorities responded with immediate medical attention, and Spellmeyer was transported to Portneuf Medical Center where she died about five hours later. Officials say Spellmeyer would have been eligible for parole in September 2012.
