(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Kyle Orton returns to the Mile High City this Sunday afternoon for the first time since Denver waived him in late November.
Orton was named the starting QB during Broncos training camp, but soon found himself on the bench in favor of Tim Tebow after a 1-4 start. Denver later released the 29-year-old, saving $2.6 million in the process.
Now Orton has a chance to derail the Broncos’ playoff hopes by playing spoiler, something he says he’s not concerned about.
“I think you got to worry about yourself,” Orton told reporters Tuesday. “There’s still plenty of things to play for just of your group of 53 and I think that’s the approach you got to take.”
Kansas City comes into the showdown with a record of 6-9, while Denver is 8-7. A victory by the Broncos would clinch the AFC West division crown for Denver.
Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. Eastern time.
