(NEW YORK) — The Oakland Raiders (7-6) will look to keep their playoff hopes alive on Sunday when they’ll play host to the Detriot Lions (8-5).
Sunday marks the return of Lions defensive end Ndamukong Suh who was serving his two-game suspension after stomping on a Green Bay Packers offensive linemen’s arm on Thanksgiving.
The Raiders currently trail the Denver Broncos by one game in the AFC West.
“It’s a huge football game for this team,” said Raiders head coach Hue Jackson. “Our guys are ready to go, we’re excited.”
The Lions are currently holding onto the final wildcard playoff spot in the NFC and it’s been a long time since the team has played meaningful games in December.
“It’s something that we’ve been waiting for, for a long time,” said Lions head coach Jim Schwartz. “It puts greater emphasis on taking advantage of the opportunity.”
