(NEW YORK) — New England Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo isn’t going anywhere. Mayo has signed a five-year contract extension with the Pats.
The 25-year old Mayo has been with the Patriots his entire career. He was New England’s first round draft pick back in 2008, where he went on to win defensive rookie of the year honors.
Mayo is considered by many to be a cornerstone of the New England defense. Last year, he led the NFL in tackles with 168 and was named to his first Pro Bowl.
Full details of the extension have yet to be released.
