(WACO, Texas) — Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III announced Wednesday that he is forgoing his senior season and entering the upcoming NFL Draft.
RG3 won the Heisman Trophy award this season after tossing for 4,293 yards and 37 touchdowns with only six interceptions. He also rushed for 699 yards and 10 TDs.
“Just a tough decision, because I love these people at this university,” Griffin said at a news conference Wednesday. “I love my coach for giving me the chance to be a quarterback and do the things that we have done.”
Griffin led the Bears to a 10-3 record this season, capping off the year with a 67-56 victory over Washington in the Alamo Bowl.
