(NEW YORK) — $21,136,631 just doesn’t buy you what it used to. That would be the salary of Washington Wizards forward Rashard Lewis. Lewis is one of the few veterans on the 0-8 Wizards, but he isn’t acting like it.
According to CSNWashington.com, Lewis got into a pregame fight with assistant coach Sam Cassell before the team’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday. As a result, he refused to play in the game, and his team lost.
Lewis was not on the Wizards bench, but the team is claiming that he was not there simply becasue of a sore knee. The 32-year old Lewis is in his second season with the Wizards, and he’s averaging just 8.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He is in the fifth year of a six-year, $118,000 per year contract that he signed with the Orlando Magic.
