(LOS ANGELES) — The Los Angeles Clippers will be without guard Chauncey Billups for the remainder of the season after he tore his left Achilles tendon in Monday night’s overtime victory against the Orlando Magic.
The 14-year NBA veteran suffered the injury in the fourth quarter, when he fell down to the ground untouched after he tried to run up the court following a missed three-pointer.
Billups was claimed off waivers by the Clippers this past off-season, after the New York Knicks released him to make room for center Tyson Chandler. He was averaging 14.9 points and 4.0 assists this season.
