(OTTAWA, CANADA) Doug Smith, an 11-year veteran in the NHL was know for his toughness, his skating speed and prowess…but a cut in the ice sent him crashing head first into the boards. An impact that broke 200 bones in his neck, and shattered two vertebra in his neck. He was a quadriplegic. His story from being on top of the Hockey world, to being paralyzed, to overcoming all odds to walk again is one-in-a-million.
