House Seeks to Curb Eminent Domain Powers
(BOISE) – Idaho’s House of Representatives has voted to curb the eminent domain powers of urban renewal agencies. Supporters argued that agencies have grown too powerful and unaccountable to voters. Democrats and Republicans from Idaho Falls voted against the bill, on grounds that the powers established during last year’s legislative session were sufficient. The measure now goes to the Senate.
