(DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.) — What a wild finished in Saturday night’s Budweiser Shootout. Kyle Busch passed defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Tony Stewart on the final lap of overtime to win the exhibition event.
Busch managed to beat Stewart to the finish line using a sling-shot pass.
“It was intense,” Busch said during a news conference after the race. “Just guys pushing all the time, pushing on you, you pushing on them, pushing five rows deep. You know everybody kinda squirrely, the back end of the cars being real light. It was a great race from my seat; hopefully it was from everyone else’s.”
Marcos Amrbose finished in third followed by Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin.
