Lin Does It Again, Knicks Beat Mavericks, 104-97
(NEW YORK) -- The New York Knicks (16-16) will look to begin a new winning streak with the man known as Lin.
The Dallas Mavericks (20-12) did all they could do, throwing double-team's at Jeremy Lin on Sunday but Lin would not be fazed. Lin-Sanity dropped in 28 points and 14 assists in the Knicks 104-97 win over Dallas.
"Looking back, it's like I was watching them win the championship last year, and that's obviously where this team wants to go," Lin said. "This is helpful to us, not just to me but to us, just to be able to see where our team can go and what we can become, and I think that's the biggest takeaway from tonight."
Lin who worked out with Gary Payton before making his NBA journey, took on another Bay area legend on Sunday in Jason Kidd.
"He looks a little bit like Steve Nash out there," Kidd said, referring to the Phoenix Suns guard.
J.R. Smith had 15 points in his first game with New York. Smith played critical minutes down the stretch.
"First five minutes was really mind blowing," Smith said. "First thing I was thinking was don't airball your first shot. You never live that down in New York City. So once I made my first one, that really got me going."
Tyson Chandler added 15 points against his former team in the win.
