(NEW YORK) — Heading into the 2012 NFL Draft, quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are considered the top quarterback prospects, and perhaps the top two prospects regardless of position. Both are competing with each other to be the number one overall draft pick. Luck and Griffin were supposed to hold their respective pro days on the same day, but Griffin is moving his up a day to March 21 so scouts can go see he and Luck in action.
“We both want to best the best, we both want to be No. 1. Whether I get drafted first or not, it’s not going to change the way I play,” Griffin said. “All I can say, it’s about motivation. You never want to feel like everybody thinks you’re a sure thing in life because it can rob you of your motivation to go out and get better.”
Andrew Luck’s status as the top college prospect has been established all the way back to last season Meanwhile, Robert Griffin III burst onto the scene with Baylor and wound up winning this past year’s Heisman Trophy Award.
