Carlos Quentin Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks

MLB?  SQUARESPACE CACHEVERSION=1332149274006Major League Baseball(PEORIA, Ariz.)  — San Diego Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday and is expected be sidelined for four to six weeks.

The injury was diagnosed at the beginning of Spring Training when Quentin was experiencing inflammation in his right knee.

Being injured isn’t something new for 29-year-old Quentin. In 2008 Quentin broke his right wrist when he slammed his bat in frustration after fouling off a pitch. In 2009 Quentin dealt with Plantar fasciitis, which cost him 99 games, and in 2011 Quentin dealt with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.

Quentin was expected to bat cleanup for the Padres to start the year. He will earn $7,025,000 this season.
