The Orlando Magic center has been rumored to be on the move all season, and by Thursday we’ll know for sure his fate for the rest of the season. Orlando’s front office is reportedly willing to do whatever it takes to retain their franchise player.

According to ESPN’s Ric Bucher, the team has promised Howard that the team will add a quality player before the deadline to play alongside Howard. Also, Bucher is reporting that he can decide the fate of head coach Stan Van Gundy as well as general manager Otis Smith at the end of the season if he signs an extension with the club.

Howard has stated that he wants a better supporting cast around him to contend for an NBA Championship. Despite Howard’s demands for the team to acquire more talent, the Magic are currently 27-15 and in third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Howard is currently averaging 21.1 points and an NBA-leading 15 rebounds per game. He has won the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award for three straight seasons.
