(NEW YORK) — The New York Jets re-signed nosetackle Sione Pouha to a three-year contract Monday. Financial terms of the deal were not announced.
New York drafted Pouha out of Utah in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. In his seven seasons with the Jets, Pouha has 234 tackles and three and a half sacks.
“You know, first and foremost, I’m ecstatic, I’m excited,” Pouha said on a conference call Monday. “This is something I’ve always wanted. I’m going to be a Jet for life.”
Pouha became a starter in 2009 when Rex Ryan took over as head coach.
