On the second playoff hole, Watson hit his tee shot deep into the trees 155 yards from the hole, but he followed that with a spectacular shot that put him 15 feet from the cup. He would two-putt from there to win the championship.

I don’t even know what happened on the back nine,” Watson said at his press conference. “I know I made bogey on twelve and then I birdied four holes in a row…Nervous on every shot, every putt…Went into a playoff…I got in those trees and hit a crazy shot that I saw in my head, and somehow I’m here talking to you with a green jacket.”

Watson isn’t the only golfer to hit a remarkable shot. Oosthuizen had a double eagle on the par-5 second hole. Oosthuizen took out his 4-iron and hit a 253-yard masterpiece that landed on the green and rolled close to 90 feet before settling in the bottom of the cup.

“It was tough after that double eagle,” Oosthuizen said. “When something like that happens early in your round you think this is it.”

Watson finished the tournament at 10-under. This is his first win at a major.
