Bulls Win, Lose Rose For the Playoffs
Published at(CHICAGO) — A bittersweet win for Chicago. The Bulls won their first game of their playoff series with the Philadelphia 76ers, 103-91, but ended up losing reiging MVP Derrick Rose for the rest of the season, when he tore the ACL in his left knee.
With a 1:22 left in the game, Rose was driving in for a layup when he jump-stopped, passed the ball and proceeded to fall to the ground in pain.
“It’s like the saddest win,” Bulls shooting guard Kyle Korver said. “Regardless, we’ve got to pick ourselves up. We’ve played a lot of games this year without him. So maybe it was just getting us ready for this.”
C.J. Watson will take over most of the point guard duties with Rose hurt.
Game 2 takes place Tuesday, in Chicago, at 8PM ET.
