(LOS ANGELES) — One of the black surgical masks Michael Jackson used to wear in public has gone on the auction block, thanks to one of his former bodyguards who owns it. And it’s attracting some big spenders.
The Nate D. Sanders Auctions website shows the current bid for the mask — which comes with a smudge of the King of Pop’s makeup and apparently one of his stray hairs — at last check has topped $20,000. The bit of memorabilia comes with a signed certificate of authenticity from Eric Muhammad, the bodyguard who possesses the mask and who claims Jackson wore it the night before he died.
Bidding ends April 30th.
