(CHICAGO) — The NHL suspended Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres indefinitely Wednesday for his hit that knocked out Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa during Game 3 of their first-round playoff series. Following the hit, the 33-year-old Hossa was taken off the ice on a stretcher and hospitalized briefly.
NHL officials will meet with Torres in New York on Friday for a hearing.
The Coyotes lead the best-of-seven series 2-1. Game four is set to take place Thursday night in Chicago.
