(LOS ANGELES) — Avengers star Mark Ruffalo may seek to avenge the hacking of his Twitter account.
The Hollywood Reporter says Ruffalo’s account was hacked on Sunday, and resulted in spam being sent to more than 155,000 followers.
The hacker changed Ruffalo’s username from @MRuff221 to @Mark_Ruffalo and posted a series of tweets promoting an ad platform for social media. The hacker then added links to photos of Kate Upton and a YouTube video entitled “Funny Cats.”
The hacker eventually signed off after writing, “Sleep now. I hope you resolve your passwords. Your account hacked because passwords set very stupid LOL =)).”
Ruffalo appears to have responded with, “It’s kind of hilarious me getting hacked today. I got to hand it to the hacker. Kind of genius.”
The Hollywood Reporter says a fan later registered Ruffalo’s original account name, and was holding it until the actor regained control of it.
