(IDAHO FALLS) – The Better Business Bureau is warning residents about a scam involving federal grants. Officials tell Local News 8 that someone claiming to be from the U.S. Department of the Treasury is calling people to tell them they’ve been randomly selected to win thousands in federal grant money. The catch of course, is that “winners” must send in a $210 money order to process it. Officials warn that the government does not call people to give away money, and no one can be awarded grants unless they’ve applied for them.
