(CALABASA, Calif.) — Teen pop singer Justin Bieber is being investigated for battery after an altercation with a photographer trying to snap pictures of the singer and his girlfriend, actress Selena Gomez, according to ABC News Los Angeles station KABC.
The photographer said Bieber struck him in the face as the mega couple exited a shopping center in Calabasas, Calif., on Sunday afternoon.
The photographer was not identified. Bieber and Gomez left before the authorities could arrive, KABC reported.
The photographer complained of pain and requested medical attention. Sheriff’s officials said he was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and later released.
Police say the alleged victim is pressing charges, filing a police report overnight alleging battery by the 18-year-old singer.
Bieber has not commented on the confrontation but took to Twitter early Monday morning to say, “gonna focus on the important stuff, the music.”
