(BOISE) – Vacationers picked up what may be a wolf puppy while camping near Ketchum over Memorial Day weekend. Fish and Game officials say a blood sample was drawn for a DNA test, and they’re still awaiting the results to determine whether it’s a wolf, a wolf hybrid, or something else. In the mean time, Zoo Boise has agreed to take care of the pup until it can find a better home. Though the animal was clearly in need of veterinary care, officials caution that it’s best to leave young wild animals alone.
