(NEW YORK) — Marvel’s The Avengers’ record-breaking weekend was even more impressive than initially believed.
According to the final box office figures released Monday, the superhero film earned $207.4 million during its first three days of release. The total is an increase of $7.1 million from Sunday’s estimate.
The Avengers enjoyed the highest-grossing debut weekend in domestic box office history, surpassing the $169.2 million that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 raised during its first three days of release last year.
The Avengers made $654.8 million worldwide in 12 days through Sunday.
