Catcher Wilson Ramos is likely out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday.

Ramos’ knee buckled when he chased down a ball during the seventh inning. He fell to the ground and was helped off the field. The 24-year-old Ramos is the 11th Nationals player to go on the disabled list this season. Despite the rash of injuries, the Nationals are still in second place in the NL East.

“We’re gonna have to start eating bananas or something to change our luck,” Nationals manager Davey Johnson told reporters. “We’ve more than our fair share of key players go down.”

Ramos was in his second season as a full-time player with Nationals. He was hitting .265 with three home runs and ten runs batted in.
