(NEW YORK) — After a year-long layoff, New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte is set to return to the mound this Sunday at home against the Seattle Mariners.
The 39-year-old Pettitte retired following the 2010 season, but announced his comeback during this year’s spring training.
“I think his stuff is going to be pretty similar to what he had when he walked away,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.
Pettitte owns a lifetime record of 240-138.
