Tarantino Lets ‘Django Unchained’ Off the Chain with Trailer Debut
Published at(NEW YORK) — The first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s period revenge flick Django Unchained has just been revealed, and the snippet promises the film will be chock full of the filmmaker’s trademark stylistic violence and offbeat music cues.
The film — set to Johnny Cash’s “Ain’t No Grave” and James Brown’s “The Payback” — shows Oscar winner Jamie Foxx as a slave freed by a bounty hunter played by Inglourious Basterds Oscar-nominee Christoph Waltz, who needs his partner to track down a gang of killers. In addition to his freedom, Foxx’s character also gets to find his wife, still enslaved by a ruthless slave owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
The film opens Dec. 25th.
