Yankees Starter Pettitte Out With Broken Ankle
Published at(NEW YORK) — New York Yankees starting pitcher Andy Pettitte will miss at least six weeks after breaking his left ankle during Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Indians.
The 40-year-old Pettitte took a low line drive off his left ankle from Indians first baseman Casey Kotchman. He was removed from the game one pitch later.
“I think things happen for a reason,” Pettitte said. “I’m just going to try to stay positive with it and you know maybe it will help me down the stretch.”
Pettitte has a lifetime record of 243-141.
